Since going free on the web, Flirtomatic needed to push into mobile to make money. The problem was that despite the hype, mobile advertising was almost non existent.
We pushed, cajoled (bullied and pleaded!) to get mobile inventory from media owners. Often they just weren't ready and in many cases we ended up their first advertiser. In some cases we even had to show them how to do it!
The push started in mid 2006 and in February 2007, Flirtomatic generated more WAP impressions than web. Mobile's also delivering Flirtomatic's most active (and most profitable) users.
